Very late Floral - Wildflowers

WILDFLOWERS - Dale Anne Potter
16" X 20"
I had started this painted fabric piece, then realized it was horizontal when it should have been vertical.  I started painting a vertical one - its still partially painted.    Instead of not uploading one, I decided to upload this one FINISHED.
Machine & Hand quilted, lots of hand stitching and some tulle.
Others are still coming - tomorrow will upload the current SKY challenge piece.

I"M sorry to hear you ladies having such difficulty with my word.

Very interesting Vivien
I have been chilling and watching the sky over the ocean a lot lately but have been unmoved to create even though I knew last month what I wanted to do!
And I am unexpectedly traveling the next 10 days so for the first time I will probably not be able to post on time which is really bothering me though I am learning to accept that this is just one time I will not have met a quilting deadline!
And maybe upon my return, Feb 1st will surprise me and be a very productive day!

Thoughts on "Sky"

I've been having a hard time with our "Sky" theme.  I think what's had me stumped is how do I represent something that can be so glorious?

Then I read the following passage in The Book Thief:

People observe the colors of a day only at its beginnings and ends, but to me it's quite clear that a day merges through a multitude of shades and intonations, with each passing moment.  A single hour can consist of thousands of different colors.  Waxy yellow, cloud-spat blues. Murky darknesses.... I make it a point to notice them.

Well, I've taken my cue from this passage.  I've been watching the sky and learning just how true the above statement is.  I think I now know what I'm going to do.
