joyful colour play

Joyful colour play
At first I had a bad time with Joy, I was absolutely blocked! Then started to think about colours and their significance to me and it became clear that the only way to express joy was
Playing with red!
Painted, dyed and printed cotton, lutradur and organza, cutted and sewed together again, overlaid.
It was a joy to play with it!

  1. I love the colors you have in this quilt ! Wish I could have seen this being made ,I am an artist myself but I have not done alot of actual dyes and paint in my quilts but, I have worked with jaquard textile paints in a few.
    Great work !!

  2. These are colors I have in abundance in my stash but I'm already too afraid to work with. You've done so beautifully. It's amazing how red is so often associated with anger, but you've done a great job of having it be joyful.
