Sky

My piece is made of cotton, except the pink which is linen. The water, the pink and the itsy bitsy sun are hand painted, the sky is snow dyed. I am always inspired by the sunsets on Long Island Sound and long for a warm summer evening right now!!!! After I paint the fabric, I cut it into strips. Sometimes I use the fabric in the order I cut the strips, sometimes I reverse the strip to make use of the white (in this case) to give the illusion of gentle waves. The sky is made up of larger strips to mimic the gentle movement of clouds.
