Man of Letters
Still exploring portraits. Steinbeck is one of my favorite authors. Adding the words lets everyone know who I am presenting. The background fabric suggested rows of books to me.
Without art and books there would be no refuge from reality
Ah, Steinbeck! What a fabulous rendering of him; your portraits sure are fantastic.
My daughters and I went to the Steinbeck Center in Salinas over Christmas break; my eldest was doing a paper / thesis on Steinbeck for her AP English class. While there, I came across a wonderful quote by The Man "I guess there are never enough books. ... (Books are) one of the few authentic magics our species has created."
